וְאָמְר֞וּ אֶל־זִקְנֵ֣י עִיר֗וֹ בְּנֵ֤נוּ זֶה֙ סוֹרֵ֣ר וּמֹרֶ֔ה אֵינֶ֥נּוּ שֹׁמֵ֖עַ בְּקֹלֵ֑נוּ זוֹלֵ֖ל וְסֹבֵֽא׃

And they shall say to the elders of his city: This son of ours is wayward and rebellious; he does not listen to our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.

Core Text
זוֹלֵל וְסֹבֵא – עַד שֶׁיִּגְנֹב מִשֶּׁל אָבִיו וְיֹאכַל בִּרְשׁוּת אֲחֵרִים.

English: “A glutton and a drunkard” — until he steals from his father’s property and eats it on the property of others.

On the daf / in context: The theft must be from the parents and the consumption must occur away from their home. These conditions further limit the practical application of the law.
