Core Text of Chazal

Core Text
הַמַּעַלְךָ מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם – זֵכֶר לִיצִיאַת מִצְרַיִם.

English: ‘Who brought you up from the land of Egypt’ – a remembrance of the Exodus.

On the daf / in context: The historical redemption is the standing proof of Hashem’s power to save.

Type of Learning

Derash linking war to the Exodus (Sifrei) — the same God who took them out of Egypt is with them in battle.

What Is Learned

The command not to fear is anchored in the memory of the Exodus: the God who brought them up from Egypt is the God who is with them now.
