וְנָתַתָּ֖ה בַּכָּ֑סֶף וְצַרְתָּ֤ הַכֶּ֙סֶף֙ בְּיָ֣דְךָ֔ וְהָֽלַכְתָּ֙ אֶל־הַמָּק֔וֹם אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִבְחַ֛ר יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ בּֽוֹ׃

Then you shall turn it into money, and bind up the money in your hand, and go to the place that Hashem your God shall choose.

הַכֶּסֶף – מִכָּאן לְמַעֲשֵׂר שֵׁנִי שֶׁאֵין נִפְדֶּה אֶלָּא בְּכֶסֶף וְלֹא בְּשָׁוֶה כֶּסֶף.

English: "The money" — from here we learn that ma’aser sheni is redeemed only with money and not with an equivalent value in goods.

On the daf / in context: The redemption must be performed with actual currency, not with merchandise of equivalent worth.

Derash on the verse (Bekhoros) — only money, not equivalent goods, effects redemption.
