יָצְא֞וּ אֲנָשִׁ֤ים בְּנֵֽי־בְלִיַּ֙עַל֙ מִקִּרְבֶּ֔ךָ וַיַּדִּ֛יחוּ אֶת־יֹשְׁבֵ֥י עִירָ֖ם לֵאמֹ֑ר נֵלְכָ֗ה וְנַעַבְדָ֛ה אֱלֹהִ֥ים אֲחֵרִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־יְדַעְתֶּֽם׃

Men, base fellows, have gone out from your midst and have led astray the inhabitants of their city, saying, “Let us go and serve other gods” that you have not known.

וַיַּדִּיחוּ – מַדִּיחֵי עִיר הַנִּדַּחַת בִּסְקִילָה, דְּגָמְרִינַן הַדָּחָה הַדָּחָה אוֹ מִמֵּסִית אוֹ מִנָּבִיא שֶׁהִדִּיחַ.

English: “And they have led astray” — The seducers of an ir ha-nidachas are put to death by stoning, for we derive “leading astray” from “leading astray” either from the mesis or from the prophet who led astray.

On the daf / in context: Although the inhabitants of the city are executed by the sword, the seducers themselves receive the more severe penalty of stoning by verbal analogy.
