Core Text

English: “Only your holy things…” — The school of R’ Yishmael taught: “Your holy things” — these are the substituted animals (temurot); “that you will have” — these are the offspring.

On the daf / in context: The verse requires that both animals substituted for consecrated ones and the offspring of consecrated animals be brought to the chosen place and offered.

Type of Learning

Derash on the verse (Sifrei) — including temurah and offspring among the holy things that must be brought.

What Is Learned

“Your holy things” includes substituted animals, and “that you will have” includes their offspring; both must be brought to the chosen place.
