English: “And you shall not eat…” — It was taught: A limb from a living animal is permitted for benefit. And even according to R’ Abahu, who said that “you shall not eat” implies even a prohibition of benefit, here it is different because it is compared to blood, as it is written “for the blood is the life.”
On the daf / in context: Although ever min ha-chai is forbidden to eat, ordinary benefit from it is permitted because of the comparison to blood (which is permitted for benefit).
