Core Text of Chazal

Core Text — Pesachim 96a

English: And it is eaten in haste. From where do we know this? For Scripture says, “And you shall eat it in haste.” “It” is eaten in haste, and no other [Pesach] is eaten in haste.

Type of Learning

Exclusionary derash of אוֹתוֹ: chipazon applies only to the Pesach of Egypt.

What Is Learned

Only the Pesach of Egypt is eaten in haste; the Pesach of the generations is not.
