Core Text of Chazal

Core Text — Pesachim 41a

English: Might one who roasted it thoroughly until charred be liable? Therefore it says “do not eat of it na or cooked” — na and cooked I told you, and not that one roasted it completely.

On the daf / in context: See the cited source for the full section.

Type of Learning

Derash on the verse (Pesachim) — not a formal named middah of the 13.

What Is Learned

Over-roasting to a char is not the prohibition of na or mevushal.
