וְקָֽרְאוּ־ל֥וֹ זִקְנֵֽי־עִיר֖וֹ וְדִבְּר֣וּ אֵלָ֑יו וְעָמַ֣ד וְאָמַ֔ר לֹ֥א חָפַ֖צְתִּי לְקַחְתָּֽהּ׃

Then the elders of his city shall call him and speak to him, and he shall stand and say: “I do not desire to take her.”

זִקְנֵי עִירוֹ וְלֹא זִקְנֵי עִירָהּ – מְלַמֵּד שֶׁהַיְּבָמָה הוֹלֶכֶת אַחַר הַיָּבָם לְהַתִּירָהּ.

English: “The elders of his city” and not the elders of her city — teaching that the yevamah goes after the yavam to be released.
