Core Text of Chazal

Core Text
אֶל תּוֹךְ בֵּיתֶךָ – וְלֹא לְבַיִת אַחֵר.

English: “Into the midst of your house” — and not into another house.

On the daf / in context: Sifrei requires that she live in the soldier’s own house during the mourning and preparation period. Placing her in a different house would prevent the intended process of her becoming less attractive to him.

Type of Learning

Mi’ut from the words “toch beisecha.”

What Is Learned

The captive woman must be brought into the soldier’s own house, not lodged elsewhere, during the required period.
