For these nations that you are dispossessing listen to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you, the Eternal your God has not given you thus.

English: ‘But as for you, the Eternal your God has not given you thus’ – but rather prophets.
Derash on the alternative given to Yisrael (Sifrei) — instead of diviners, Hashem provides prophets.
Hashem has not given Yisrael the way of the soothsayers; He has given them the institution of true prophecy.
