Then he shall serve in the name of the Eternal his God, like all his brethren the Leviim who stand there before the Eternal.
Torah Temimah points to Sifrei Devarim 168.
TT lemma: וְשֵׁרֵת בְּשֵׁם ה׳.
English: ‘And he shall serve in the name of the Eternal his God’ – in the service.
Derash on equal service (Sifrei) — the language grants the visitor the same right to serve as the resident Mishmar.
A Levi who comes to the chosen place may perform the service just as his fellow Leviim who are stationed there.
