Core Text of Chazal
Core Text
מֵאֵת זֹבְחֵי הַזֶּבַח – פְּרָט לְפָסוּלֵי הַמֻּקְדָּשִׁין.
English: ‘From those who slaughter the sacrifice’ – excluding disqualified consecrated animals.
On the daf / in context: The gifts apply to ordinary (chullin) animals, not to certain sacred categories that are invalid.
Type of Learning
Derash excluding certain animals (Bavli) — the verse’s language limits the scope to ordinary slaughter.
What Is Learned
The three gifts are taken from ordinary animals slaughtered for food, not from every category of animal.
