וְשָׂמַחְתָּ֖ בְּחַגֶּ֑ךָ אַתָּ֨ה וּבִנְךָ֤ וּבִתֶּ֙ךָ֙ וְעַבְדְּךָ֣ וַאֲמָתֶ֔ךָ וְהַלֵּוִ֗י וְהַגֵּ֛ר וְהַיָּת֥וֹם וְהָאַלְמָנָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר בִּשְׁעָרֶֽיךָ׃
And you shall rejoice in your festival, you and your son and your daughter and your manservant and your maidservant and the Levi and the stranger and the orphan and the widow who are within your gates.

Core Text
וְשָׂמַחְתָּ – מִכָּאן לְחוֹלֶה שֶׁפָּטוּר מִן הָרְאִיָּה בָּעֲזָרָה.
English: "And you shall rejoice" — from here we learn that a sick person is exempt from the appearance-offering in the Temple courtyard.
On the daf / in context: Because the purpose of the pilgrimage is joy before Hashem, one who cannot rejoice is exempt from the obligation to appear.
