English: "Six days..." — It was taught: just as the seventh day is restricted, so the six days are restricted; if [one would say] just as the seventh is restricted from all work, so the six are restricted from all work, the verse says "and on the seventh day a solemn assembly"—the seventh is restricted from all work, but the six days are not restricted from all work.

On the daf / in context: Chol HaMoed is subject to some restrictions, yet not to the full prohibition of labor that applies on Yom Tov itself.

Type of Learning

Derash on the verse (Pesachim) — Chol HaMoed is partially restricted.

What Is Learned

The intermediate days of Pesach are subject to certain work restrictions, but not to the complete prohibition of labor that applies on the seventh day.
