שֵׁ֥שֶׁת יָמִ֖ים תֹּאכַ֣ל מַצּ֑וֹת וּבַיּוֹם֙ הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י עֲצֶ֖רֶת לַיהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ לֹ֥א תַעֲשֶׂ֖ה מְלָאכָֽה׃

Six days you shall eat matzos, and on the seventh day there shall be a solemn assembly to Hashem your God; you shall do no work.

שֵׁשֶׁת יָמִים וגו׳ – תַּנְיָא, שֵׁשֶׁת יָמִים תֹּאכַל מַצּוֹת וּבַיּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי עֲצֶרֶת, מַה שְּׁבִיעִי רְשׁוּת אַף שֵׁשֶׁת יָמִים רְשׁוּת.

English: "Six days..." — It was taught: "Six days you shall eat matzos and on the seventh day a solemn assembly"—just as the seventh day is optional [with regard to eating matzah], so the six days are optional.
