English: "Free from you" — One who flees and one who leaves by deduction of money do not receive a grant, as it is said "and when you send him free from you"—one whose release is from you.
On the daf / in context: Only a release initiated by the master (or by the calendar) entitles the slave to the parting gift; self-initiated departure does not.
