And this is the manner of the release: every creditor shall release that which he has lent to his neighbor; he shall not exact it of his neighbor and his brother, because the release of Hashem has been proclaimed.
English: "And this is the manner" — One who returns a debt in the seventh year must say to him "I release it"; and if the debtor says "nevertheless," he may accept it from him, as it is said "and this is the manner (devar) of the release."
On the daf / in context: A verbal declaration of release is required; if the debtor insists on paying anyway the creditor may accept the money.
