לֹ֖א תֹּאכְלֶ֑נּוּ לְמַ֨עַן יִיטַ֤ב לְךָ֙ וּלְבָנֶ֣יךָ אַחֲרֶ֔יךָ כִּֽי־תַעֲשֶׂ֥ה הַיָּשָׁ֖ר בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהֹוָֽה׃

You shall not eat it, in order that it may go well with you and with your children after you, when you do what is right in the eyes of Hashem.

לֹא תֹאכְלֶנּוּ – תַּנְיָא, רַבִּי אוֹמֵר, בִּבְשַׂר וְחָלָב הַכָּתוּב מְדַבֵּר, אוֹ אֵינוֹ אֶלָּא בְּאֶחָד מִכָּל אִסּוּרִים שֶׁבַּתּוֹרָה, צֵא וּלְמַד מִי״ג מִדּוֹת שֶׁהַתּוֹרָה נִדְרֶשֶׁת בָּהֶן, דָּבָר הַלָּמֵד מֵעִנְיָנוֹ, בַּמֶּה הַכָּתוּב מְדַבֵּר בִּשְׁנֵי מִינִים – אַף כָּאן בִּשְׁנֵי מִינִים.

English: “You shall not eat it” — It was taught: Rebbi says: The verse is speaking of meat and milk. Or is it only one of all the prohibitions in the Torah? Go and learn from the thirteen principles by which the Torah is interpreted: a matter that is learned from its context. Of what is the verse speaking? Of two species — so here also of two species.
