וַעֲבַרְתֶּם֮ אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּן֒ וִֽישַׁבְתֶּ֣ם בָּאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁר־יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֖ם מַנְחִ֣יל אֶתְכֶ֑ם וְהֵנִ֨יחַ לָכֶ֧ם מִכָּל־אֹיְבֵיכֶ֛ם מִסָּבִ֖יב וִֽישַׁבְתֶּם־בֶּֽטַח׃

And you shall cross the Jordan and dwell in the land that Hashem your God is giving you as an inheritance, and He will give you rest from all your enemies round about, and you shall dwell securely.

וְהֵנִיחַ לָכֶם – תַּנְיָא, אָמַר רַבִּי יוֹסֵי, שָׁלֹשׁ מִצְוֹת נִצְטַוּוּ יִשְׂרָאֵל בִּכְנִיסָתָן לָאָרֶץ, לְהַעֲמִיד לָהֶם מֶלֶךְ וּלְהַכְרִית זַרְעוֹ שֶׁל עֲמָלֵק וְלִבְנוֹת לָהֶם בֵּית הַבְּחִירָה.

English: “And He will give you rest” — It was taught: R’ Yose said: Three mitzvos were commanded to Israel upon their entry into the Land: to appoint a king over them, to eradicate the seed of Amalek, and to build for themselves the Chosen House.
