לִפְנֵי ה׳ אֱלֹהֵיכֶם – וְהֵיכָן הוּא, כָּל חַד וְחַד בִּמְחִיצָתוֹ.

English: “Before Hashem your God” — And where is that? Each one in its own domain.

On the daf / in context: Different categories of offerings and dues have different places of consumption (some throughout the city, some only in the azarah); each is eaten “before Hashem” within its own permitted boundary.

Type of Learning

Derash on the verse (Sifrei) — clarifying the locations of consumption.

What Is Learned

Each type of offering or due is eaten in its own designated area (city or azarah) and is thereby considered “before Hashem.”
