לֹא תַעֲשׂוּן כֵּן וגו׳ – הַמּוֹחֵק אֶת הַשֵּׁם לוֹקֶה, וְאַזְהָרָתֵיהּ מֵהָכָא, וְאִבַּדְתֶּם אֶת שְׁמָם לֹא תַעֲשׂוּן כֵּן לַה׳ אֱלֹהֵיכֶם.

English: “You shall not do so…” — One who erases the Name incurs lashes; the prohibition is derived from here: “and you shall destroy their name — you shall not do so to Hashem your God.”

On the daf / in context: The same negative command that forbids destructive treatment of sacred objects also prohibits erasing the Divine Name.
