הֲלֹא־הֵ֜מָּה בְּעֵ֣בֶר הַיַּרְדֵּ֗ן אַֽחֲרֵי֙ דֶּ֚רֶךְ מְב֣וֹא הַשֶּׁ֔מֶשׁ בְּאֶ֙רֶץ֙ הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֔י הַיֹּשֵׁ֖ב בָּעֲרָבָ֑ה מ֚וּל הַגִּלְגָּ֔ל אֵ֖צֶל אֵלוֹנֵ֥י מֹרֶֽה׃

Are they not beyond the Jordan, behind the way of the going down of the sun, in the land of the Canaanite who dwells in the Arabah, opposite Gilgal, beside the terebinths of Moreh?

הֲלֹא הֵמָּה וגו׳ – תַּנְיָא, רַבִּי אֱלִיעֶזֶר בֶּן יַעֲקֹב אוֹמֵר לֹא בָּא הַכָּתוּב אֶלָּא לְהַרְאוֹת לָהֶם דֶּרֶךְ בַּשְּׁנִיָּה כְּדֶרֶךְ שֶׁהֶרְאָה לָהֶם בָּרִאשׁוֹנָה.

English: “Are they not…” — It was taught: R’ Eliezer ben Yaakov says: Scripture comes only to show them the way the second time just as it showed them the first time.
