Parashas Eikev · Passuk 7:25
You shall consign the images of their gods to the fire; you shall not covet the silver and gold on them and keep it for yourselves, lest you be ensnared thereby; for that is abhorrent to the ETERNAL your God.
Torah Temimah points to Avodah Zarah 51b.
TT lemma: כסף וזהב עליהם (unit 7 of 8).
English: Elsewhere it says, “their abominations of wood and stone, silver and gold that were with them,” while here wood and stone are not written. How so? “With them” is compared to “on them”: just as “on them” forbids only what is for beauty, so “with them” forbids only what is for beauty. [Avodah Zarah 51b]
