Chazal

English: “I will turn toward you” — they told a parable: a king hired many laborers, and one laborer worked with him many days. When the laborers came for their pay, that one came with them. The king said to him: My son, I will turn aside for you! These others did little work and I give them little pay; but you — a great reckoning I am destined to settle with you.

Type of Learning

Parable / mashal derasha — preferential attention to sustained service.

What Is Learned

Hashem “turns” to Israel not as a brief glance but as clearing the full account for long, faithful labor — while the nations receive only the short wage of limited service.
