כְּשָׂכִ֥יר כְּתוֹשָׁ֖ב יִהְיֶ֣ה עִמָּ֑ךְ עַד־שְׁנַ֥ת הַיֹּבֵ֖ל יַעֲבֹ֥ד עִמָּֽךְ׃

Torah Temimah cites Sifra / Kiddushin 15a.

Core Text — Sifra / Kiddushin

עַד שְׁנַת הַיּוֹבֵל יַעֲבֹד עִמָּךְ. מְלַמֵּד שֶׁהַיּוֹבֵל מוֹצִיאוֹ לְחֵרוּת.

English: “Until the year of the Yovel he shall work with you.” This teaches that the Yovel releases him to freedom.

Classical derasha (Sifra / Bavli Kiddushin).

An eved ivri goes free at Yovel even if the six-year term has not yet expired (and even if he is a nirtza).
