English: “Do not make for yourselves” — might others make for them? Scripture says “not for you.” Might they make for others? Scripture says “do not make” — neither for yourselves nor that it be yours.
Neither making nor owning molten gods
The doubled language forbids both fashioning idols and possessing them, whether made by oneself or by others.
