EXTRA 1 on Acharei Mos 18:25

Side-ring EXTRA · Arayos defile the Land itself

Source

Torah Temimah is silent on 18:25. Rashi and Toras Kohanim treat the Land’s defilement and subsequent “vomiting” as a unique property of Eretz Yisroel.

Core Text

Core Text — Toras Kohanim / Rashi on 18:28

English: A parable of a prince who was fed something repulsive that could not remain in his intestines, so he vomited it out. Likewise the Land of Israel cannot retain transgressors.

Unique sensitivity of Eretz Yisroel

What Is Learned

Arayos are not merely personal sins; they defile the Land, and the Land itself expels its inhabitants. Other lands do not possess this same inability to tolerate such conduct.
