וְאִ֨ישׁ אִ֜ישׁ מִבְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל וּמִן־הַגֵּר֙ הַגָּ֣ר בְּתוֹכָ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר יָצ֜וּד צֵ֥יד חַיָּ֛ה אוֹ־ע֖וֹף אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֵאָכֵ֑ל וְשָׁפַךְ֙ אֶת־דָּמ֔וֹ וְכִסָּ֖הוּ בֶּעָפָֽר׃

ושפך וכסהו — מי ששפך יכסה; שחט ולא כסה וראהו אחר מניין שחייב לכסות? ת"ל ואמר לבני ישראל — הרי זו אזהרה לכל ישראל.
English: The one who poured should cover; if he did not, another who sees the blood is obligated — “say to the children of Israel” is a warning to all Israel.
