וְאִ֨ישׁ אִ֜ישׁ מִבְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל וּמִן־הַגֵּר֙ הַגָּ֣ר בְּתוֹכָ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר יָצ֜וּד צֵ֥יד חַיָּ֛ה אוֹ־ע֖וֹף אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֵאָכֵ֑ל וְשָׁפַךְ֙ אֶת־דָּמ֔וֹ וְכִסָּ֖הוּ בֶּעָפָֽר׃

אין לי אלא אשר יצוד; נצודין ועומדין מאליהם כגון אווזין ותרנגולים מניין? ת"ל ציד מכל מקום. א"כ מה ת"ל אשר יצוד? למדה תורה דרך ארץ שלא יאכל אדם בשר אלא בהזמנה הזאת.
English: “Game” includes even animals that are already caught (geese, chickens); “who hunts” teaches proper conduct — one should not eat meat except with this kind of preparation.
