שִׁבְעַת יָמִים תִּהְיֶה בְנִדָּתָהּ — יָכוֹל שִׁבְעַת יָמִים בֵּין סְמוּכִין בֵּין מְפֻזָּרִין? תַּלְמוּד לוֹמַר תִּהְיֶה — הֲוָיָתָן אַחַת.
English: “Seven days she shall be in her niddah” — one might think seven days whether consecutive or scattered; Scripture teaches “she shall be” — their existence is one continuous [period].
