וְאִ֕ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִגַּ֖ע בְּמִשְׁכָּב֑וֹ יְכַבֵּ֧ס בְּגָדָ֛יו וְרָחַ֥ץ בַּמַּ֖יִם וְטָמֵ֥א עַד־הָעָֽרֶב׃

Torah Temima points to Toras Kohanim.

בְּמִשְׁכָּבוֹ — בְּמִשְׁכָּבוֹ, וְאִם נִשְׁבַּר טָהוֹר.

English: “His bed” — [while it remains] his bed; and if it is broken, it is pure.

Loss of midras status when broken

Chazal teach that once the article is broken so that it no longer functions as a bed, its midras status ceases.
