English: “When you come into the land” — one might think [the law applies] from the time they came to the other side of the Jordan; therefore the verse says “into the land” — the distinctive land.
Geographic scope
Chazal limit the law of house-negaim to Eretz Yisrael proper, not the territory east of the Jordan.
