Core Text

English: “And if he is poor” — if someone said “the offering of this metzora is upon me,” and the metzora was rich but the one who vowed is poor, he still brings the rich man’s offering. Why? Because it is written “and if he is poor.”

What Is Learned

Chazal teach that when the metzora himself is rich, the offering must be the rich man’s offering even if a poor person undertakes it.
