The Complete Passuk

וְצִוָּה֙ הַכֹּהֵ֔ן וְלָקַ֧ח לַמִּטַּהֵ֛ר שְׁתֵּֽי־צִפֳּרִ֥ים חַיּ֖וֹת טְהֹר֑וֹת וְעֵ֣ץ אֶ֔רֶז וּשְׁנִ֥י תוֹלַ֖עַת וְאֵזֹֽב׃

Torah Temima points to Toras Kohanim.

Core Text

וְלָקַח לַמִּטַּהֵר — לַמִּטַּהֵר לְשֵׁם מְטַהֵר, בֵּין אִישׁ וּבֵין אִשָּׁה וּבֵין קָטָן.

English: “And he shall take for the one being purified” — for the sake of a person being purified, whether a man, a woman, or a minor.

Ribui from “la-mitaher”

Chazal teach that the materials may be taken for any person (or house) requiring purification; gender and age do not restrict the taking.
