Core Text of Chazal

Core Text — Yevamos 75a
בְּכָל־קֹדֶשׁ לֹא תִגָּע — לְרַבּוֹת אֶת הַתְּרוּמָה.

English: “She shall not touch any holy thing” — this comes to include terumah.

Type of Learning

Ribuoy of “any holy thing” — the broad language of קֹדֶשׁ expands the prohibition beyond Temple-kodoshim to terumah, because the yoledes after immersion is still a “tevulas yom aruch” until sunset of day forty.

What Is Learned

During the thirty-three pure days the woman is permitted to her husband, yet she may not touch (and by extension may not eat) terumah. The verse’s “any holy thing” is the ribuoy that brings terumah into the same restriction as the Mikdash. This is another classic Torah Temimah-style unit: Bavli reading a precise expansion out of a single phrase on a passuk that TT left silent in the Sefaria inventory.
