Core Text of Chazal

English

Rabbi Nechemyah distinguishes the two kinds of workmanship: ma'aseh rokem is needlework and therefore has one face, while ma'aseh choshev is woven work and therefore has two faces.

What Is Learned

The cited Yoma passage distinguishes the workmanship called rokem from choshev by the number of visible faces produced by the work.
