English: Rabbi Tanchuma and Rabbi Abba bar Kahana, in the name of Rabbi Elazar, derive that commandments require blessings: “And I will give you the tablets of stone, the Torah and the commandment.” The Torah is linked with the commandments: just as Torah requires a blessing, so commandments require blessings.
