וְאֵין מַחְזִירִין לְחוֹבָה. מַחְזִירִין לִזְכוּת – זְכוּת גְּרֵידְתָּא, וְאֵין מַחְזִירִין לְחוֹבָה – לִזְכוּת שֶׁהִיא חוֹבָה. חוֹבְתֵיהּ דְּמַאן? הָא לָא קַשְׁיָא, חוֹבְתֵיהּ דְּגוֹאֵל הַדָּם. מִשּׁוּם חוֹבְתֵיהּ דְּגוֹאֵל הַדָּם קָטְלִינַן לֵיהּ לְהַאי? וְעוֹד, מַאי ״בֵּין״ ״בֵּין״? קַשְׁיָא. רָבִינָא אָמַר: כְּגוֹן שֶׁהָיָה לוֹ בְּיָדוֹ מַשְׁכּוֹן, וּנְטָלוֹ מִמֶּנּוּ.
