Core Text of Chazal

Core Text — Pesachim 59a

English: The daily offering precedes the incense, the incense precedes the lamps, and the lamps precede the Pesach. Let a matter about which both “in the evening” and “between the evenings” are said be delayed relative to a matter about which only “between the evenings” is said.

Type of Learning

Priority from the extra phrase “in the evening” on the tamid versus only “between the evenings” on the Pesach.

What Is Learned

The afternoon tamid is offered before the Pesach on the fourteenth.
