הָא בְּבַעַל מוּם. בַּעַל מוּם מִי מָצֵי אָכֵיל לֵיהּ? דְּקִים לֵיהּ בֵּיהּ שֶׁכָּלוּ לוֹ חֳדָשָׁיו. תָּנוּ רַבָּנַן: בְּאֶחָד בְּנִיסָן רֹאשׁ הַשָּׁנָה לָחֳדָשִׁים, וּלְעִיבּוּרִין, וְלִתְרוּמַת שְׁקָלִים. וְיֵשׁ אוֹמְרִים: אַף לִשְׂכִירוּת בָּתִּים.
English: “This month shall be for you” — you [determine it], whether inadvertently, deliberately, or under error.
