Classical midrash on the discovery of the money.

Sefaria · Bereshit Rabbah 91

Core Text of Chazal

English of Core Text: “He saw his money; and, behold, it was in the mouth of his sack.” The discovery at the lodging-place begins the shared fear.

On the daf / in context: The midrash notes that the first sighting of the returned silver occurs away from home, forcing the brothers to confront the mystery together before they reach Yaakov.

Type of Learning: Derash on the verse (classic midrash) — not a formal named middah of the 13.

What Is Learned: The money reappears at the moment of ordinary need (feeding the animals); what was intended as a secret test becomes an open crisis on the road.
