אֵינֶ֨נּוּ גָד֜וֹל בַּבַּ֣יִת הַזֶּה֮ מִמֶּ֒נִּי֒ וְלֹֽא־חָשַׂ֤ךְ מִמֶּ֙נִּי֙ מְא֔וּמָה כִּ֥י אִם־אוֹתָ֖ךְ בַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר אַתְּ־אִשְׁתּ֑וֹ וְאֵ֨יךְ אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֜ה הָרָעָ֤ה הַגְּדֹלָה֙ הַזֹּ֔את וְחָטָ֖אתִי לֵֽאלֹהִֽים׃

He wields no more authority in this house than I, and he has withheld nothing from me except yourself, since you are his wife. How then could I do this most wicked thing, and sin before God?”

הָרָעָה הַגְּדוֹלָה — בְּגִלּוּי עֲרָיוֹת כְּתִיב ״הָרָעָה הַגְּדוֹלָה״ וּבְלָשׁוֹן הָרַע כְּתִיב ״לָשׁוֹן מְדַבֶּרֶת גְּדֹלוֹת״, מְלַמֵּד שֶׁכׇּל הַמְסַפֵּר לָשׁוֹן הָרַע מַגְדִּיל עֲוֹנוֹ כְּנֶגֶד עֲוֹן גִּלּוּי עֲרָיוֹת.

English: “This great evil” — regarding illicit relations it is written “the great evil,” and regarding lashon hara it is written “a tongue that speaks great things,” teaching that whoever speaks lashon hara magnifies his sin to the scale of illicit relations.
