English: “God is with you.” Because they saw that he had left the neighborhood of Sedom in peace, that he had fought the kings and they had fallen into his hand, and that his wife had been remembered in his old age.
Derash on the verse (Rashi) — not a formal named middah of the 13. Observable history is read as evidence of God’s presence with Avraham.
Consistent deliverance and blessing become public testimony; even a foreign king can discern that God is with Avraham in all he does.
