Torah Temima points to Rava’s derivation of resurrection from the Torah.
English: Rava said: From where do we know the resurrection of the dead from the Torah? As it is said “Let Reuven live and not die” — let him live in this world and not die for the World to Come.
A scriptural source for the doctrine of resurrection drawn from the blessing of Reuven.
The double language “live… and not die” is read as referring to two realms: life in this world and life in the World to Come. The verse therefore supplies one of the classic proofs that the resurrection of the dead is rooted in the Written Torah.
