אֶ֣בֶן שְׁלֵמָ֤ה וָצֶ֙דֶק֙ יִֽהְיֶה־לָּ֔ךְ אֵיפָ֧ה שְׁלֵמָ֛ה וָצֶ֖דֶק יִֽהְיֶה־לָּ֑ךְ לְמַ֤עַן יַאֲרִ֙יכוּ֙ יָמֶ֔יךָ עַ֚ל הָאֲדָמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ נֹתֵ֥ן לָֽךְ׃

A complete and just weight you shall have, a complete and just measure you shall have, that your days may be prolonged in the land that the Eternal your God is giving you.

מִכָּאן אָמְרוּ: הַסִּיטוֹן מְקַנֵּחַ אֶת מִדּוֹתָיו אַחַת לִשְׁלֹשִׁים יוֹם וּבַעַל הַבַּיִת אַחַת לִשְׁנֵים עָשָׂר חֹדֶשׁ.

English: From here they said: A wholesale dealer cleans his measures once every thirty days, and a householder once every twelve months.
