And it shall be that the firstborn that she bears shall succeed to the name of his dead brother, so that his name shall not be blotted out from Israel.

TT lemma: יָקוּם.
יָקוּם עַל שֵׁם אָחִיו – וְהֲרֵי קָם; אֵין נַפְקָא מִנָּהּ אִם עַל יְדֵי בְּכוֹר אוֹ עַל יְדֵי פָּשׁוּט.
English: “He shall succeed to the name of his brother” — and he has succeeded; there is no difference whether it is effected by the firstborn or by a younger brother.
On the daf / in context: Although the preferred fulfillment is by the eldest, the inheritance effect is the same whoever performs the yibbum.
Derash on the equal effect of any brother’s yibbum.
Whoever performs yibbum (eldest or younger) acquires the deceased’s inheritance share.
