TT #606 · Parashas Ki Seitzei · Sixth / Seventh Aliyah · Passuk 24:20
When you beat your olive tree, you shall not go over the boughs again; it shall be for the stranger, the orphan, and the widow.
Torah Temimah points to Sifrei Devarim 284.
TT lemma: לֹא תְפַאֵר אַחֲרֶיךָ.
English: ‘You shall not go over the boughs again’ – you shall not take the glory (the remaining fruit).
Derash on the verb (Sifrei) — a second thorough gathering is forbidden.
After the initial beating, the owner may not return to strip the remaining olives; those are designated for the stranger, orphan, and widow.
