וְכִֽי־יִהְיֶ֣ה בְאִ֗ישׁ חֵ֛טְא מִשְׁפַּט־מָ֖וֶת וְהוּמָ֑ת וְתָלִ֥יתָ אֹת֖וֹ עַל־עֵֽץ׃

And if a man has committed a sin worthy of death, and he is put to death, and you hang him on a tree,

כֵּיצַד תּוֹלִין אוֹתוֹ? מְשַׁקְּעִין אֶת הַקּוֹרָה בָּאָרֶץ וְהָעֵץ יוֹצֵא מִמֶּנָּה, וּמַקִּיף שְׁתֵּי יָדָיו זוֹ עַל גַּבֵּי זוֹ וְתוֹלֶה אוֹתוֹ.

English: How do they hang him? They sink a post into the ground with a beam projecting from it; they place his two hands one over the other and hang him.
