נָבִ֨יא מִקִּרְבְּךָ֤ מֵאַחֶ֙יךָ֙ כָּמֹ֔נִי יָקִ֥ים לְךָ֖ יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ אֵלָ֖יו תִּשְׁמָעֽוּן׃

A prophet from among you, from your brethren, like me, the Eternal your God will raise up for you; to him you shall listen.

Torah Temimah points to Sifrei Devarim 175.

TT lemma: נָבִיא מִקִּרְבְּךָ.

Core Text

נָבִיא מִקִּרְבְּךָ מֵאַחֶיךָ כָּמוֹנִי – כְּמוֹנִי מִכֶּם, לֹא מִן הַגּוֹיִם.

English: ‘A prophet from among you, from your brethren, like me’ – like me from among you, not from the nations.
